WHY SQ3R IS THE BEST TEACHING & LEARNING STRATEGY EVER DEVELOPED
SQ3R was developed by the USA military in 1942 at Ohio State University and used to accelerate the training of 150,000 enlistees into leadership positions to help win WWll. The same military developed; computers, the Internet, radar, traffic control systems, microwaves, digital cameras, 3D Printing, voice recognition software, nuclear power, drones, satellite systems, night vision googles, solar power systems, jet engines, freeze drying, and even duct tape. The USA spends tens of $Billions annually at a dozen high-tech military R&D labs developing cutting-edge scientific, educational, technical and strategic products for the military that eventually get transferred into non-military everyday lives. Unfortunately, SQ3R fell through the cracks after the war and most educators today never heard of it.
